Today I’d like to introduce something a little special. It’s a newly created playlist on my official YouTube channel, “Zen & Inner Peace: New Age Buddhist Mantras.” These are Buddhist sutras with a long history — the Thousand Hands Sutra, the Heart Sutra, the Lotus Sutra — reinterpreted with AI (SUNO) as New Age and ambient music, a meditation podcast.
What made me most nervous when I first started this project was: could I turn these into a sound that anyone could easily listen to, without damaging the depth and weight the sutras carry? Listening to monks’ voices at a temple is wonderful, but I imagined what it would be like if this music played quietly in the mountains, and left it in a form that could comfortably play in the background on YouTube.

This podcast draws from profound Buddhist sutras. From the most widely known Thousand Hands Sutra‘s spirit of compassion, to the Heart Sutra which holds the wisdom of emptiness, the Sutra of the Earth Store which sings of boundless vows, the Flower Adornment Sutra which depicts cosmic harmony, the Dhammapada holding the wisdom of life, and the Lotus Sutra which depicts the moment of awakening — I’ve reinterpreted the essence of ancient Eastern thought through a contemporary sound.
